Testing

The transformers are tested at our works with modern, sophisticated, computerized, regularly calibrated meters through a centralized control panel. Dynamic short circuit and impulse voltage testing can be conducted at any Government agency if required, and temperature rise test can be conducted at our works. Most of our designs are type tested for lightning Impulse Voltage and Short Circuit withstand tests (Dynamic and Thermal). All the transformers are subjected to the following below mentioned routine tests at the works. The following routine tests are carried out in accordance with the details specified in the latest version of IS: 1180/Part-II and IS: 2026, IEC & SANS 780 & SABS.
  • Measurement of Winding Resistance.
  • Measurement of Voltage Ratio, Polarity & Vector Group.
  • Measurement of Impedance Voltage/Short Circuit Impedance & Load Loss at 750C.
  • Measurement of No-Load Loss and No-Load Current.
  • Measurement of Insulation Resistance.
  • Inducted over voltage withstand test.
  • Separate source voltage withstand test.
  • BDV of Oil Test
  • Temperature Rise Test
