SPECIAL DESIGN FEATURES INCORPORATED IN FOR FURNACE TRANSFORMERS 

Single Phase / Three Phase Transformer are specially designed and constructed in accordance with IS- 2026 to be used to supply electric power to 6 pulse bridge rectifier associated with the INDUCTION MELTING FURNACES. Secondary Side Voltage is made variable by means of hand operated OFF circuit tapping switch on Primary Winding with suitable locking facilities and is designed as per customer’s requirement. Secondary Side voltage is designed as per requirement give by Furnace Manufacturers. Transformers are Designed to give the Power Factor above 0.95. Transformers Windings are arranged in (DYN 11) configuration. Three Phase Transformer are specially designed so as to make them capable to deliver full KVA at -10% of rated voltage. Single Phase Transformer Neutral is not grounded internally or externally. It is brought out with insulator on tank. Transformers have an appropriate electrostatic shield (Earthed Screen) between Primary and Secondary windings which are brought out on the terminal and are not internally grounded. Transformers Insulation between secondary winding and earth have a 10 KV rms withstand capacity at all the times to cope with a maximum short term fault voltage of 3.6KV rms relative to ground and 15 KV impulses relative to ground for 2 seconds. Transformers Impedence & regulation is specially taken care off while designing and is ensured that the Transformer would have proper value of Impedence at its rated voltage and KVA. The temperature rise of winding is usually limited to 55oC, over continuous ambient temperature of 50 oC, when delivering full load output KVA. Same way the temperature rise of oil is also limited to 45 oC over continuous ambient temperature of 50 oC. Termination : Primary side- cable box suitable for HT cable & Secondary side: Bus ducting arrangement on top. The effect of harmonica due to 3 phase full wave bridge rectifier is very well taken care off while designing a Furnace Transformer. No load and load losses do not exceed the values specified in IS-2026 & BEE. The off load tape changing devices are sturdy and reliable. Transformers are provided with all standard and required fitting and protection as per IS 2026. Transformers are provided with intermediate class of lightening arrestor.
